The Hotpot Society is a digital hotpot dining experience exploring the role of social interaction in commensality. Inspired greatly from my personal observation of people fiddling on their individual smart phones at the dinner table while waiting for their order at restaurants, it attempts to use tech devices as a tool to encourage interaction in physical spaces. It specifically uses hotpot as the medium of communication as it is something that is considered in many Asian culture as a social activity rather than it simply being a cuisine.
This project can be accessed on most devices, however for an optimal experience, please play the game with two or more people with a tablet device placed in the middle of the table.
